September Release: Quesnel

Quesnel. It's finally here!

I've been working on this project for what seems like forever and I'm so excited that I finally get to share it!

Quesnel (kwen-el) is an oversized open front cardigan knit with lots of positive ease. The shawl collar and rolled cuffs make it a casual and versatile wardrobe staple while the vertical stripes of texture keep it interesting to knit and to wear. The Fibre Co.’s Arranmore Light creates a light, warm fabric perfect for fall. Instructions are included for two versions: a coat, which falls just below the hips, and a longer full, which falls above the knee.

This is knit with The Fibre Company's newest yarn Arranmore Light, which is a wonderful blend of wool, cashmere and silk and just feels like fall. The colourway I've used, Ruari, is the perfect shade of cool red that has these amazing little pops of blue. It feels kind of rustic and luxurious all at the same time (and how they always manage to do that, I'll never know!)

If our summer hadn't been so unseasonably hot, I would have worn this Every. Day. and you can bet that once it finally does cool down here in the Pacific Northwest, I will be.

Until September 15 use the code QUESNEL2017 to get 25% off your purchase on Ravelry.

August Patterns: Cypress Hat and Cypress Fingerless Gloves

So, it's September already and, as usual, I forgot to post about my new pattern release! Silly me. So here it is now, or rather, here they are now, the Cypress Hat and the Cypress Fingerless Gloves.

These are two coordinating patterns both featuring a little bit of delicate eyelet ribbing details. The hat comes in 5 sizes, from infant to adult, and the fingerless gloves come in three adult sizes. They are the perfect little winter accessory by themselves, or together as set, and would make a great Christmas gift (if you're already thinking about things like that...)

The yarn used is Sweet Georgia Superwash DK in the Cypress colourway (hence the name) and one 115g skein was able make a hat and gloves set in the adult medium size.

And since I completely spaced and forgot to post about these beauties earlier, here's a promo code for 25% off: CYPRESS25  (promo code will work for both patterns, valid until September 7). Happy Knitting!

July Pattern: Celista

I really have to get better at posting my new patterns, you know, when they get released! Any who! Here's July!

The Celista top is a vintage-inspired tee featuring oversized chevrons in bold stripes. The pattern contains two PDFs; one for a seamless version and one for a seamed version, so you can choose how you like to knit it.

And since I totally spaced and the new release discount is already over (I really dropped the ball on this one!) you can use the code CELISTA25 for 25% off the pattern price until July 30th.

Happy knitting!

June Pattern: Main Street

It's June. The weather is heating up and things are getting busier. And I completely forgot to tell you about the pattern for June!

This is Mount Pleasant's sister pattern, Main Street. It uses some of the same elements, such as the neckline and scalloped lace hem, but with some distinct differences in length and fit.

Since I got distracted by sunshine, I'm also extending the new release sale. Use code PIPANDPINSUMMER for 25% off either Main Street or Mount Pleasant (or both!) until July 15, 2017.

Make sure to show off your WIPS on Instagram using #mainstreettee #mountpleasanttee and #pipandpin

Happy Summer!

May Pattern: Mount Pleasant

Today it feels like winter is finally ending! It's the long weekend and the sun is shining and there is heat! Summer is on it's way and I couldn't be more excited.

As much as I love cozying up in front of a fireplace with a big pile of wool on my lap slowly becoming a fluffy sweater or cardigan, there is something I really love about knitting in the summer.  And t-shirts and sleeveless tops are becoming my favourite thing to knit. For one - they're quick! No sleeves = no sleeve island = done twice as fast. I also really love lace and it's so much easier to incorporate into a summer shirt than winter garb.

My new pattern for this month encompasses all of my favourtie things about summer knitting - fingering yarn, no sleeves and lace. Introducing: Mount Pleasant

It's a pretty basic cropped tee with a little bit of scalloped lace at the hem worked in the round from the bottom up. It is perfect for wearing with high-waisted skirts of jeans, or over dresses or tunics.

Until May 25, receive 25% off at checkout, no code needed. (Ravelry purchases only)
