Sweaters You’ll Actually Wear — Part I Style

This is the first installment of Sweaters You’ll Actually Wear, where I talk about simple things you can think about before casting on your next sweater to make sure it’s one you reach for again and again.

This week, I want to talk about style. Because the number one thing that will make your next sweater something you'll reach for is knitting it in a style that you already know you like.

For example, I love, love, the retro look of a fitted, cropped and buttoned cardigan paired with a flowery dress and a cute pair of flats, but that’s just not me. In my day-to-day life, I’m reaching for comfortable, oversized sweaters to wear with  my jeans, and open front cardigans I can throw over my t-shirt while running out the door.

Now, I don’t mean you have to make exact copies of what you already have, that would be silly, but taking the time to look through your wardrobe and really focus in on the types of sweaters you’re already wearing can help you choose something that will seamlessly blend with your current lifestyle.

What’s your sweater style? Tailored and fitted? Oversized and chunky? Loose and airy? Do you like feeling polished and put together, or is comfy and cozy more your vibe? Really take some time to think about your current style and what types of items will fit into your wardrobe right now.
